- 500 grams chicken (bone-in preferred)
- 2 medium onions finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes pureed or chopped
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp tsp cumin powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- salt to taste
- 1 - 1 1/2 cups hot water
- Fresh coriander leaves
Cook masala:
Add tomatoes, turmeric, chilli powder, coriander powder, and cumin powder.
Cook until oil separates from the masala.
Optional Additions:
Add coconut milk for a South Indian style.
Add beaten curd for a richer North Indian version.
Add potatoes for a homestyle variation.
