- 8 potatoes boiled and mashed
- 250 grams minced beef (or mutton/chicken)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp onion diced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbsp green chilli (optional)
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp coriander chopped
- 2 eggs
- salt to taste
- oil for frying
Cook filling:
In a pan, cook minced meat with black pepper, turmeric, cumin, and coriander until browned.
Add aromatics:
Add onion, garlic, and chilli.
Cook until onions turn soft and translucent.
Shape patties:
Take mashed potato and flatten into a small disc.
Place a spoon of filling in the center, seal, and shape into a ball, then gently flatten.
Pro Tips:
✔ Mash potatoes smooth for better shaping.
✔ Cool filling before stuffing to avoid breaking.
✔ Do not overfill to keep patties intact.
✔ Fry on medium heat for even crispiness.
✔ Can be made ahead and refrigerated.
