- 6 cups cake flour
- 4 cups self-raising flour
- 180 grams butter melted
- 2 eggs
- 500 ml buttermilk
- 1 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 packets yeast
- Lukewarm water as needed
- Oil for frying
For Sugar Syrup:
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups water
Prepare the dough:
In a large bowl mix all dry ingredients.
Add melted butter, eggs, and buttermilk.
Mix to form a soft dough.
Add lukewarm water if needed.
Shape twisties:
Roll dough into a long sausage.
Cut small pieces and roll each into 8 cm strips.
Join 2–3 strips and plait.
