Tikha besan Chilla or besan cheela is a delicious and healthy savory Indian pancake recipe made with gram flour (besan), aromatics and tomatoes.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cup gram flour
  • 1 teaspoon(tsp) garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon(tsp) ground green chillies
  • Salt to taste
  • 6 stalks coriander leaves, chopped
  • pinch of turmeric
  • oil for frying

Instructions
 

  • Mix all ingredients together with enough water to make a runny mixture
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan
  • Reduce heat and pour 1/4 cup of the mixture into the pan, spreading evenly to cover the surface of the pan
  • Dab a bit of oil around the edges
  • As soon as the edges start to become slightly brown, turn over the chilla to cook the other side
  • Dab a bit of oil around the edges and cook until the edges start to become slightly brown
  • Repeat steps 2 to 6 for the rest of the mixture
  • Serve with coconut chutney or tamarind chutney
