
Churros
Crispy golden churros with a soft, airy inside, coated in sweet cinnamon sugar—perfect for dessert or indulgent snacking.
Ingredients
For the churros:
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the cinnamon sugar coating:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
Prepare coating:
- Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish.
- Keep aside.
Heat oil:
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 180°C (medium-high heat).
Make dough:
- In a saucepan, add water, butter, sugar, and salt.
- Bring to a boil.
Add flour:
- Reduce heat and add flour.
- Stir continuously until the mixture becomes smooth and forms a dough.
Cool slightly:
- Transfer to a bowl and let it cool for 5 minutes.
Add egg and vanilla:
- Add egg and vanilla.
- Beat well until smooth and combined.
Pipe churros:
- Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star tip.
- Pipe strips directly into hot oil.
Fry:
- Fry for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Coat:
- Remove and drain briefly, then roll in cinnamon sugar mixture.
Serve:
- Serve warm with chocolate or caramel sauce.
