Ingredients
- 300 grams flour
- 100 grams fine semolina
- 150 grams melted butter
- 200 ml warm water
- 30 grams cornstarch
- 5 grams vanilla
For the Syrup:
- 500 grams sugar
- 300 ml water
- lemon juice – a squeeze
For garnish:
- crushed pistachios – as desired
Instructions
Prepare dry mix:
- In a bowl, mix flour, semolina, cornstarch, and vanilla.
Make dough:
- Add melted butter and warm water, then knead until a smooth, soft dough forms.
Shape pieces:
- Shape the dough into small “Remoosh El Set” pieces as desired.
Prepare syrup:
- In a pan, heat sugar and water until dissolved.
- Add lemon juice and simmer for a few minutes.
- Let it cool completely.
Fry dough:
- Heat oil and fry the shaped dough pieces until golden brown and crisp.
Soak in syrup:
- Remove hot pieces and immediately dip them into the cold syrup.
Garnish:
- Arrange on a serving plate and sprinkle generously with crushed pistachios.
Cooking:
- Deep fry on medium heat until evenly golden, then soak immediately in cooled syrup for best texture.
