Ingredients
  

  • 8 potatoes boiled and mashed
  • 250 grams minced beef (or mutton/chicken)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp green chilli (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp coriander chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • salt to taste
  • oil for frying

Instructions
 

Prepare potatoes:

  • Boil potatoes in salted water until soft.
  • Mash smoothly and keep aside.

Cook filling:

  • In a pan, cook minced meat with black pepper, turmeric, cumin, and coriander until browned.

Add aromatics:

  • Add onion, garlic, and chilli.
  • Cook until onions turn soft and translucent.

Finish filling:

  • Add lemon juice and mix.
  • Turn off heat and let the mixture cool.

Shape patties:

  • Take mashed potato and flatten into a small disc.
  • Place a spoon of filling in the center, seal, and shape into a ball, then gently flatten.

Coat:

  • Whisk eggs with a little salt.
  • Dip each patty into the egg mixture.

Fry:

  • Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry patties for about 2 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.

Serve:

  • Serve hot with chutney, sauce, or tea.

✔ Cool filling before stuffing to avoid breaking.
