
Butter Bean Tikka Curry (Creamy & Spicy)
A rich and creamy vegetarian curry made with marinated butter beans, cooked in a flavorful tikka-style gravy.
Ingredients
For Tikka Beans:
- 2 cups cooked butter beans
- 1/2 cup thick curd
- 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- salt to taste
- 1 tbsp oil
For Curry Gravy:
- 2 tbsp oil or butter
- 1 large onion finely chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes pureed
- 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp kashmiri chilli powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp kasuri methi
- 3-4 tbsp fresh cream or coconut cream
- salt to taste

Instructions
Marinate beans:
- Mix curd, ginger-garlic paste, spices, lemon juice, and salt.
- Add butter beans and coat gently.
- Rest for 20–30 minutes.
Roast beans:
- Heat oil in a pan and shallow fry the marinated beans for 4–5 minutes until slightly golden.
- Set aside.
Prepare gravy:
- Heat oil or butter and add cumin seeds.
- Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
Add base flavors:
- Add ginger-garlic paste and cook briefly.
- Add tomato puree and cook until oil separates.
Add spices:
- Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric, and garam masala.
- Cook for 2 minutes.
Combine:
- Add water to adjust consistency.
- Add roasted beans and simmer for 8–10 minutes.
Finish:
- Stir in cream and kasuri methi.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
