
Peri-Peri Chicken Burger Patties
Spicy, juicy peri-peri chicken patties you can prep ahead and freeze. Perfect for quick homemade burgers anytime
Ingredients
- 500 grams ground chicken
- 50 grams onion finely chopped (moisture squeezed)
- 1 tsp garlic paste
- 1 tsp ginger paste
- 2 tbsp peri-peri sauce
- 50 grams bread crumbs
- 1 egg
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp oil
Instructions
Prepare mixture:
- Add ground chicken to a bowl.
- Add onion, garlic paste, ginger paste, peri-peri sauce, bread crumbs, egg, salt, pepper, paprika, and oregano.
- Mix well until evenly combined.
Shape patties:
- Divide mixture into equal portions and shape into burger patties.
- Keep them slightly thin for even cooking.
Store raw patties:
- Place patties on butter paper, stacking with paper between each.
- Freeze flat for 1–2 hours, then transfer to an airtight freezer bag.
- Store up to 1 month.
Cook patties:
- Heat oil in a pan and cook patties on medium heat until golden and fully cooked, about 4–5 minutes per side.
- Cook directly from frozen if needed.
Store cooked patties:
- Cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Reheat before serving.
