
Softest Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 500 grams all-purpose flour (about 4 cups)
- 7 grams instant yeast ( 2tsp )
- 50 grams sugar ( 1/2 cup )
- 10 grams salt ( 2 tsp )
- 240 ml warm milk ( 1 cup )
- 60 grams unsalted butter melted (¼ cup)
- 1 large egg
Instructions
Activate the Yeast:
- In a bowl combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast.
- Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until the mixture becomes frothy and bubbly.
Prepare the Dough:
- In a large mixing bowl combine flour and salt.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg, then mix until a soft dough forms.
Knead the Dough:
- Transfer the dough to a clean surface and knead for 8–10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
First Rise:
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a cloth.
- Let it rise in a warm place for 1–1½ hours until doubled in size.
Shape the Rolls:
- Punch down the dough to release air.
- Divide it into 12 equal portions and shape them into smooth balls.
- Place them in a greased baking pan, leaving a small gap between each.
Second Rise:
- Cover the pan and let the rolls rise again for 30–40 minutes until soft and puffy.
Bake the Rolls:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake for 20–25 minutes** until the rolls turn golden brown on top.
Finish & Serve:
- Brush the hot rolls with melted butter for extra shine and softness.Serve warm.
