Aloo gobi (Cauliflower curry) is a vegetarian dish from the Indian subcontinent made with potatoes (aloo), cauliflower (gob(h)i), and Indian spices. It is popular in Indian and Pakistani cuisines. It is yellowish in colour due to the use of turmeric, and occasionally contains kalonji and curry leaves.
Other common ingredients include garlic, ginger, onion, oriander stalks, tomato, peas, and cumin. There are a number of variations and similar dishes.
Cauliflower Curry

Ingredients
- 1/2 kilogram(kg) 1/2 kilogram cauliflower ,cut into pieces
- 2 small onions,chopped
- 1 tomato chopped
- 1/4 cup oil
- Salt to taste
- potatoes,peeled and cut into piedes
- 1/2 teaspoon(tsp) garlic paste
- 2 green chillies, slit
- 1 tablespoon(tbsp) coriander leaves,chopped
- 1 teaspoon(tsp) coriander/cumin powder
- 1/2 tablespoon(tbsp) garam masala powder
- 1/4 teaspoon(tsp) red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon(tsp) turmeric
Instructions
- Fry the chopped onions in the oil to a light brown colour
- Add all the ingredients and cook for a little while before adding the cauliflower and potatoes
- Cook on low heat until the cauliflower is cooked
- Add 1 tbsp of water if necessary while cooking
- Serve with parathas
